AquaMaxx UltraMaxx AIO All-In-One Filter Media Product Demo

AquaMaxx UltraMaxx AIO All-In-One Filter Media is the only filter media you need for crystal clear water in your freshwater, saltwater fish or reef aquarium. It removes phosphates, silicates, organic pollutants and heavy metals while reducing nitrates and improving oxidation reduction potential (ORP). This long-lasting blend of super absorbent multi-resin media will only need to be replaced every 4 to 6 months when used as directed.

AquaMaxx UltraMaxx AIO is packed into filter bags that you can place inside your canister filter, hang-on back filter or inside the filtration chamber of your aquarium. No muss, no fuss!

UltraMaxx AIO is AquaMaxx's most advanced filter media to date. It contains a specially-formulated bituminous coal carbon, phosphate removal resin and a powerful organic removal resin. You will immediately notice the difference in water clarity and your tank inhabitants will benefit from living in a healthier aquatic environment.

AquaMaxx UltraMaxx AIO Filter Media contains an efficient coal-based activated carbon with a low density, high adsorption capacity. What does that do for your tank? Organic pollutants, odors and discolorations will be eliminated leaving crystal clear water that allows better light penetration with increased ORP.

UltraMaxx AIO also contains an advanced phosphate removal resin that gets rid of phosphates and silicates in aquarium water. Phosphates and silicates contribute to the presence of nuisance algae and diatoms. UltraMaxx AIO starves algae fuels to prevent blooms and will not leach any phosphates or silicates back into your aquarium.

A special organics-selective resin is included in this special blend of media to lower nitrate levels and reduce the need for frequent water changes. A uniform, spherical shape maximizes surface area for high capacity organic pollutant collection. A unique amine eliminates the possibility of "nitrate dumping," which can occur with standard resins.

AquaMaxx UltraMaxx AIO All-in-One Filter Media will effectively filter a freshwater aquarium up to 4 months and saltwater tanks up to 6 months, depending on your aquarium feeding habits and bioload.

Radion TIR Lens Kits increase peak output up to 45%

Since their unveiling at Interzoo, you have been asking how you can get your hands on a TIR Lens upgrade for your Radion.  We are pleased to announce that the TIR lens upgrade kits are now available for pre-order!

What is TIR?
TIR stands for Total Internal Reflection. By redirecting more of each LED cluster’s output in a usable direction (in your tank), TIR lenses are able to boost peak PAR levels by up to 45% and total (average) PAR levels by up to 23% beneath the fixture without sacrificing spread or consuming additional power.

Put Your PAR Where Your Tank Is

On the Left is a Radion using the current lens and reflector On the Right is a Radion using the the new TIR lens kit. Readings where taken over a 30x30 inch area at 12 inches from the light.

As Promised
While many make claims, EcoTech delivers. The TIR lens incorporates EcoTech’s ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement for the benefit of its customers. A modular upgrade for a truly modular fixture makes the Radion an ever brighter solution for aquarium lighting.

Tunze Nano Wavebox 6206 Product Demo

In today's video, we're going to take a look at the Tunze Nano Wavebox 6206. The Nano Wavebox is a very effective way to generate waves inside your aquarium. It can move a large volume of water with a single pump using minimal electricity.

The type of flow that Tunze Nano Wavebox creates is very natural, similar to what corals would experience in the ocean on wild reefs. The pump provides extra circulation in and around the rockwork inside your aquarium without the need for additional powerheads. This eliminates dead spots where poor water circulation can cause detritus build up.

The system operates using a single Tunze Stream pump housed inside a plastic box that operates at a pulsing frequency. The frequency is during setup based on your aquarium's size. You can change the frequency based on your coral growth or changes in your aquascape as time goes on.

Everything you'll need to create waves in your aquarium is included in the box, so no additional parts or accessories are required for installation. You'll get the Wavebox 6206, Wavecontroller 6091, magnetic mount and optical sensor for night mode operation. The unit is rated for aquariums between 39 and 158 gallons, although you can add an additional wavebox should you move up to a larger aquarium down the road.

Watch the video to see how easy it is to setup the unit and program the controller. If you have any questions about the Tunze Nano Wavebox 6206, please leave us a comment below or call 1-800-566-FISH (3474).
